Conflict Mineral Policy

PDF Solutions, Inc. is committed to sourcing components and materials from companies that share our values around human rights, ethics and environmental responsibility.

As part of this commitment, PDF Solutions supports the goals and objectives of Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Act (the “Act”).  The Act aims to prevent the use of minerals sourced from a particular region in The Democratic Republic of the Congo, or an adjoining country as defined in the Act (collectively, “DRC”), that directly or indirectly finance or benefit armed groups that perpetrate human rights abuses in the DRC region.

Minerals sourced from mines in the area of the DRC that is controlled by non-government military groups or unlawful military factions, which is known as the “conflict region”, are referred to under the Act as “conflict minerals”.  Conflict minerals include: columbite-tantalite (coltan) (a.k.a. “tantalum”), cassiterite (a.k.a. “tin”), gold, and wolframite (a.k.a. “tungsten”), and their derivatives, and could expand to include other minerals and their derivatives if any such minerals are used to finance the conflict in the DRC, as determined by the U.S. Secretary of State.

As part of its compliance with the Act, PDF Solutions performs reasonable due diligence and files annual reports regarding the use of conflict minerals in its products. Accordingly, all suppliers to PDF Solutions are expected to comply with PDF Solutions’ Supplier Code of Conduct (the “Supplier Code”), which includes requirements relating to conflict minerals and responsible sourcing.  A copy of the Supplier Code is available at

Specifically, the Supplier Code expects all of its suppliers to comply with the  Act, and to exercise due diligence on the source and chain of custody of any tantalum, tin, tungsten or gold used in the products made for PDF Solutions, and make their due diligence measures available to PDF Solutions. Under the Supplier Code, Suppliers are responsible for passing these same requirements onto their suppliers. PDF will seek to source products only from suppliers that comply with these requirements.

PDF Solutions appreciates the commitment of its suppliers to the goal of using conflict-free minerals in its products.
