Lucio L. Lanza
Mr. Lucio Lanza has served as the Chairman of the Board since April 2004 and as a director since November 1995. He is also the managing director of Lanza techVentures. Prior to founding Lanza techVentures he was a general partner of US Venture Partners. Mr. Lanza came to the venture capital industry with more than twenty-five years of operating experience in the electronics industry, including engineering management at Olivetti, Chairman of the microprocessor business segment at Intel, General Manager at Daisy Systems, and CEO of EDA Systems. During his tenure at USVP, Mr. Lanza was also chief strategist and in charge of the M&A activity for Cadence Design Systems from 1990-1995. Mr. Lanza served on the board of directors of Artisan Components, Inc. beginning in 1996, becoming Chairman in 1997, and continuing through its acquisition by ARM Holdings, Ltd. in December 2004. He is currently a non-executive director of ARM, and serves on the board of directors of several private companies, including Forte Design Systems and Pharmix, Inc. He holds a doctorate in electronic engineering from Politecnico of Milano.
Dr. Albert Y. C. Yu
Dr. Albert Yu has served as a director since August 2005. He is currently active in private venture investing and serves on several high technology company boards. Dr. Yu was employed at Intel Corporation for almost 30 years until his retirement in 2002. At Intel, he held numerous technical and executive management positions, most recently as a Senior Vice President and a member of the Corporate Management Committee, with responsibilities for corporate strategy, microprocessors, chipsets, and software. Dr. Yu received a B.S. from the California Institute of Technology, and an M.S. and Ph.D. from Stanford University, all in electrical engineering.
R. Stephen Heinrichs
Mr. Stephen Heinrichs has served as a director since August 2005. Mr. Heinrichs, who has been appointed Chairman of the Audit Committee, currently is a private investor and serves on a number of public and private company boards. He brings over 30 years experience in finance and operations through positions held in public accounting and, most recently, before his retirement in 2001, as Chief Financial Officer of Avistar Communications Corporation, a publicly-held video communications company he co-founded and for which he presently serves as a director. From January 2003, until the company was acquired in 2005, Mr. Heinrichs was a member of the board of directors of Artisan Components and was its audit committee chairman. Mr. Heinrichs received a B.S. in Accounting from California State University Fresno and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Dr. Tom Caulfield
Dr. Caulfield is the executive vice-president of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Satisfaction for Novellus Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: NVLS). Before joining Novellus in October 2005, Dr. Caulfield spent 16 years with IBM where he held several positions in executive management. Most recently at IBM, he was vice-president of 300mm Semiconductor Operations, responsible for IBM's premier semiconductor facility in East Fishkill, N.Y. Before joining IBM, Dr. Caulfield was a senior member of the research staff at Phillips Laboratory, and began his career in high-tech at Columbia University. Dr. Caulfield received a B.S. in Physics from St. Lawrence University and a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. in Materials Science/Metallurgy from Columbia University.
Dr. John K. Kibarian
One of PDF's founders, Mr. Kibarian has served as President since November 1991 and has served as our Chief Executive Officer since July 2000. Mr. Kibarian has served as a director since December 1992. Mr. Kibarian received a BS ECE, MS ECE and PhD ECE from Carnegie Mellon University.
Dr. Kimon Michaels
Kimon Michaels, Ph.D., one of our founders, has served as Vice President, Design for Manufacturability since June 2007. Dr. Michaels served as Vice President, Field Operations for Manufacturing Process Solutions from January 2006 through May 2007, and has been a Director since November 1995. From March 1993 through December 2005, he served in various vice presidential capacities. He also served as Chief Financial Officer from November 1995 to July 1998. Dr. Michaels received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, an M.S. E.C.E. and a Ph.D. E.C.E. from Carnegie Mellon University.
